This online text book is new for v4 of the specification for first teaching from September 2012, consisting of 293 high quality pages related directly to the specification. Instead of purchasing class sets of text books, you can now purchase an online version that can be downloaded to your school network or installed on laptops, tablets and mobile phones for use within the classroom and at home. This takes the term "Anytime Anywhere Learning" to a new dimension. The text book is written by Paul Long who has co-authored the original AS and A2 text books for v2 of the specification. The book includes a document with contents page for each chapter together with answers to questions, activities, question templates and examples. Download the sample of the AS online text book to see how much you can get for the cost of just 4 paper text books. Compatible with AS G061 Presentations.
One year student licence for single user only for 12 months (can be extended for £10 if doing re-take). One year site licence is for school or college use for 12 months. Word owner is full product permanent ownership for school with editable chapters. PDF owner is same as Word owner but with PDFs of the 7 chapters. School or college can allow students to install on personal devices for period of licence or learning, whichever is shortest.
AS G061 Presentations v4
|
![]() |
A set of presentations and support files for the G061 examination for AS OCR ICT (v4 specification), including lots of question templates. They are linked to the new online text book AS ICT 4 OCR @ A Level v4 by Paul Long (although they work without the book) and there are also references to activities and examples from the book. It is not necessary to use the text book, but references are there if required. Some activities are integrated within the presentations so that students are actively engaged within lessons. The presentations are effectively a detailed scheme of work (without timescales) showing you what to teach at each stage and will save hours of planning. They are also fully editable and include graphics to aid teaching and learning. All 7 specification topics (and text book chapters) are covered. The cost covers a lifetime licence to use the presentations. Teachers' notes are not included as all the information required is already in the online text book. However, where there are 'dubious' or 'vague' areas, further explanation is given to both teachers and students. This resource is produced by Paul Long who wrote the online AS text book. Compatible with AS G061 online text book (direct hyperlinks to text book resources).

Most students who have A Level ICT knowledge lose marks on examination papers because they struggle with examination technique. A great way to teach examination technique is to use past examination papers with question templates to show students how to structure their answers to describe, explain, compare and discuss questions. This product includes templates for all the past examination papers for G061 from January 2009 to Summer 2016 (including the sample assessment materials). In addition, centres will receive a grid that shows the coverage of the specification for each examination paper and the coverage of the specification over its lifetime to help see the pattern of which types of questions are asked and when, together with a prediction of which learning objectives may be tested in the Summer 2017 G061 exam. New from 2013 - page numbers from the online text book for each question to enable quicker revision.

2016-17 Similar but Different Tasks with answers
|
![]() |
Your school/college will receive a complete set of "similar but different" tasks which cover the same skills as those required for the real tasks. These "similar but different" tasks can be used to teach students all the skills necessary for the real tasks, including 'coursework technique'. The "similar but different tasks" come with guidance for students on how to complete those tasks and the level of guidance will depend upon the complexity of the task (for example, a spreadsheet macro task will include more guidance). Video tutorials have been provided for the animation in task 2 to help simplify the instructions. A complete set of answers to the "similar but different" tasks is provided that can be shared with students as part of AfL (Assessment for Learning) and these answers will include the original working files used to create the answers. These resources are produced by a previous Principal Examiner for G062.

Definition
|
![]() |
Your school/college
will receive a set of high definition (1080p) video tutorials guiding you and your students
through each of the similar but different tasks. There will be
more than one video for each task so that students can work at their
own pace. The videos can be used as reminders of what to do
taking the pressure off the teacher who would normally have to keep
repeating demonstrations. It also means students who are
absent from school can contue with their work.
This product is only available if you purchase the
similar but different tasks and will be licensed for the same number
of users as the similar but different tasks.
